Behavioural Training

PRIVATE TRAINING FOR PROBLEM BEHAVIOURS

From 4 months through to adulthood and beyond, dogs can start to display unwanted or seemingly “naughty” behaviours.  Some of the behaviours that dogs exhibit are natural dog behaviours that can be easily resolved, and some behaviours require more intensive training or intervention. 

 

The Responsive Canine takes a holistic approach to resolving these behaviours, by creating a customised program based on a range of factors such as the genetics/breed of your dog, its learning history and environment.  Every dog is an individual and training can only progress at a pace your dog is comfortable with. Our goal is to establish long term positive change, rather than any quick and temporary "fix".  We adhere to the Hierarchy of Procedures for Humane and Effective Practice and only use the most humane and ethical training practices at all times.

A behavioural training session consists of a questionnaire and consultation to obtain history and background information, a discussion on canine learning and body language, advice on managing the problem/s and practical training to address the presenting challenge/s. 

Behavioural Training Package:

 

  • 1 x 2 hour initial session 

  • Canine behaviour educational talk, training/behaviour folder, assessment and training plan, practical training
